Keith Taylor, CB, Washington: New Orleans Saints

The Saints need help on the outside. Janoris Jenkins isn’t the answer but a player with a similar skill set is. Washington’s Keith Taylor has that and the potential to be better in Dennis Allen’s system. With only three draft picks, the Saints will likely try to trade down. Whether they do or not, Taylor makes sense on Day 2 with the 60th overall pick.

This Senior Bowl was a place for tall corners to show that they were more than just length. No one did that better than Taylor. For the Huskies, the 6-2, 191-pound corner lined up on the boundary. There he’s able to utilize his length and the sideline to help him shut down defenders. He’d play press bail often, which was cause for concern.

At the Senior Bowl, he answered some of those questions. He showed the ability to recognize route combinations. The former Huskie also showed solid anticipatory skills. In man coverage, he showed quick feet and fluid hips.

Thanks to his ability to line up and play press in zone or man, he’s a great option for the Saints. Pairing him with Marshon Lattimore and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson would give the Saints an excellent young trio for years to come.
