Super Bowl 55 Madden Simulation, Third Quarter: Chiefs 31, Buccaneers 13

Much like the first quarter, the action in the third quarter of Super Bowl LV was much more subdued than the outburst in the second period. However, the Chiefs were able to find the end zone again while the Buccaneers managed only a field goal, thus giving Kansas City a commanding 18-point lead heading into the final frame.

The big touchdown game after a long drive from the Chiefs where they were able to move the ball and milk the clock. Mahomes threw his third touchdown pass of the day with a six-yard toss to running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, the rookie running back’s second touchdown of the day.

While the Bucs kept moving the ball, it was again not enough as they had to settle for another field goal, this one a 36-yarder from Ryan Succop.

Mahomes’ dominance was on full display through three quarters, throwing for 284 yards with three scores on 24-of-29 passing. Brady was doing his best to match, though, going 25-of-35 for 278 yards and one touchdown with the one pick.

Le’Veon Bell had a big third quarter as the Chiefs tried to melt away time, raising his totals to 15 carries for 64 yards on the day. But the Buccaneers continued to struggle on the ground with Ronald Jones II leading the way with only 24 yards on 10 carries.

Mike Evans finally made an appearance for the Buccaneers with 42 yards receiving but the dominance of Travis Kelce was a difference-maker as he pushed out to the game-high of eight catches for 89 yards.
