Super Bowl 55 MVP candidate No. 4: Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs

When it comes to Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill, you’re really splitting hairs as to who could be the best candidate to win Super Bowl LV MVP. That’s why both of the Chiefs weapons have the best odds after the quarterbacks to win the award.

However, Kelce comes in slightly behind Hill in these rankings for the simple fact that he didn’t have a monster game against the Bucs in the regular season. Part of that might’ve been game-script as Kansas City wasn’t looking for big plays while playing with a lead but it could also be due to the talented Tampa linebacker group.

Even still, you can’t deny how incredible Kelce has been to this point, the top target-getter ad pass-catcher for the offense. And if he can do that again while also finding the end zone, it’s no secret that he could make a strong case for the award.

Super Bowl 55 MVP candidate No. 3: Tyreek Hill, WR, Kansas City Chiefs

Hill put forth one of the most electric pass-catching performances of the 2020 campaign when these two teams met in the regular season. He topped 200 yards in the first quarter, largely thanks to two massive touchdowns.

It was a clear miscalculation on the part of Bucs defensive coordinator Todd Bowles in how to defend Hill as they tried to do so in one-on-one situations. That’s likely to change. But even if it does, that doesn’t eliminate Hill’s game-changing speed and playmaking ability or Andy Reid’s ability to get him the ball.

Frankly, I don’t see a way that the Bucs can totally contain Hill in this game given their personnel. And as such, he’s likely to have a big play that affects the outcome. If he has multiple again, though, that could be enough for an MVP case.
