Super Bowl 55 MVP candidate No. 2: Tom Brady, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Of course Tom Brady is one of the leading candidates to win Super Bowl LV MVP. The Buccaneers quarterback has more experience in the Big Game than anyone and we’ve seen him rise to the occasion more than once when it comes to a Lombardi Trophy being on the line.

Outside of the runied-perfection season and the loss to the Giants, this might be the most dangerous group of weapons Brady has ever entered a Super Bowl with, though. Subsequently, you have to think that a big performance could be in store, especially in a game likely to feature a ton of passing attempts for both teams.

Really, it all comes down to who you think will win. If you’re thinking the Bucs come out on top, then Brady is the obvious choice for you as to who will win MVP.

Super Bowl 55 MVP candidate No. 1: Patrick Mahomes, QB, Kansas City Chiefs

On the flip side, if you think the Chiefs are going to win their second consecutive title, then Patrick Mahomes is the obvious choice for you. He’s the prohibitive favorite with -106 odds to win the award and, given that he won it last year and is the best player who will be on the field, the reasons as to why aren’t difficult to decipher.

For me, the only thing that will keep Mahomes from winning Super Bowl MVP assuming that the Chiefs are going to have success is the offensive line. We don’t definitively know how much that’s going to hinder the offense. But even then, with the mobility of the $500 million quarterback, he should be able to make the plays necessary to once again steal the show and come out on top with a second straight title and second straight MVP trophy.
