Super Bowl bold prediction No. 6: Tyreek Hill sets single-game scrimmage yards record

As mentioned, the way Hill performed in the regular-season meeting between the Chiefs and Buccaneers has led many to surmise that the latter will be honed in on stopping the speedster with the Lombardi Trophy hanging in the balance. But the way the Bucs have played defense all season coupled with the versatility of Hill leads me to believe that won’t be possible.

Andy Reid has consistently shown a willingness to get Hill the ball in numerous ways. It’s one of the reasons why the wide receiver is so dangerous; he gets targeted at every level of the field and even gets designed carries as well. We’ll see that and he’ll break a couple of monster plays. When it’s all said and done, he’ll prove unstoppable as he earns the record for most scrimmage yards in a Super Bowl, breaking Jerry Rice’s record of 220.

Super Bowl bold prediction No. 5: Travis Kelce limited to under 50 yards

The flip side of the argument for people who believe that Hill is going to be more limited in Sunday’s game is that it could open up the field for Travis Kelce, not that he necessarily needs that. He’s been a stalwart for the Chiefs throughout the season and especially in the playoffs. But I’m pivoting from that notion in terms of Tampa Bay’s defensive approach.

My feeling is that Todd Bowles will be more inclined to use his athletic linebackers to try and limit the methodical chunk plays from Kelce that can just cripple a defense as opposed to primarily focusing on keeping Hill from making the massive splash plays. As such, this will be a pedestrian showing from the star Kansas City tight end as he has under 50 yards receiving on the night.
