DraftKings NFL picks, Super Bowl Showdown: Best DFS lineup for Chiefs vs. Buccaneers
DraftKings NFL picks for the Super Bowl Showdown DFS contest with Chiefs vs. Buccaneers to help you build the best lineup for your tournament.
Yes, everyone is ready for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs to face off in Super Bowl LV on Sunday night. But this also means that it’s the final DraftKings DFS fantasy football contest of the season. With just one game left to be played, that means we have a massive Super Bowl Showdown contest to dissect.
In Showdown contests, you select six players with no team or position limits as long as you stay under the salary cap. Meanwhile, one player will be selected as your Captain. He’ll have a 1.5 salary multiplier but his points will get the same multiplier as well.
So with that, let’s go position by position through the DraftKings Super Bowl Showdown to break down all your options on the Chief and Buccaneers. Then we’ll look at a tournament lineup that I believe could be a winner. We start with the quarterbacks.
DraftKings Super Bowl Showdown picks: Quarterback
Shocking no one, Patrick Mahomes ($12,000) is at the top of the slate and why wouldn’t he be? He’s been lights-out good in the two playoff games to get to this point, putting up a combined 50.1 points over that span. He torched the Bucs in the regular season and, though he’s behind a makeshift offensive line, there’s a lot to like about him simply getting the ball out quick to his playmakers.
On the other sideline, Tom Brady ($10,000) is actually extremely reasonably priced given his upside. He is going to have to throw a lot in this game to keep up with the Chiefs, which means he’s going to have the opportunity to put up big numbers. Even if you think Kansas City wins, Brady should be a good DraftKings DFS play.
DraftKings Super Bowl Showdown picks: Running Back
Leonard Fournette ($7,800) is deservingly going to get a lot of looks given his usage in the passing game and he should be a good play due to that, even if he doesn’t have much rushing upside.
But if you’re looking for targets, then Clyde Edwards-Helaire ($7,000) or Darrel Williams ($5,200) is intriguing. With the Chiefs offensive line banged up, both backs could get a lot of looks in check-down situations. For me, though, the price of Williams and his recent favorable usage makes me lean that way.
You should be fading Ronald Jones II ($2,200), even at his extremely low price. He’s fallen out of favor in the offense and, with rushing attempts likely being limited, it’s hard to see him playing a big role in the Buccaneers offensive gameplan.
