4. New England Patriots 28, Seattle Seahawks 24 (Super Bowl XLIX)

It was a highly-entertaining tilt at Arizona as Tom Brady and company looked to prevent Pete Carroll’s club from repeating as Super Bowl champions. After a first quarter in which the team spent the time feeling each other out, the back-and-forth nature of this contest unfolded as a pair of Brady touchdown passes were twice answered with Seattle touchdowns.

The Seahawks took a 24-14 advantage into the fourth quarter but Brady, who would overcome two interceptions, finished the day with 328 yards through the air and four scores – a pair in the final quarter to Danny Amendola and Julian Edelman, respectively. Then came a late Seattle drive and Malcolm Butler’s amazing pick.

3. Philadelphia Eagles 41, New England Patriots 33 (Super Bowl LII)

It’s the most passing yards ever by a player in an NFL postseason game. And it still wasn’t enough for Bill Belichick’s then-defending Super Bowl champions to overcome a talented Philadelphia Eagles’ club that came into Super Bowl LII with a backup quarterback and left with the Lombardi Trophy.

As for Tom Brady, he did his best and would connect on 28 of his 48 throws for a record 505 yards. And all three of his touchdown tosses came in the second half as New England owned a 33-32 lead with less than 10 minutes to play. But the Eagles would regain the lead, Brandon Graham came up with a sack and Brady lost the ball and the Pats would be dethroned in Minnesota.
