There’s already one huge star from Penn State on the New York Giants, and they saw what life was like without him in 2020. Saquon Barkley was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft and topped the 1,000-yard mark in each of his first two seasons with the Giants. He added another 721 yards receiving as a rookie and 438 in year two, showing off his skills as a dual-threat.

Then in 2020, Barkley was injured in the second game of the season after gaining just 34 yards on 19 carries. It was confirmed after the game that he tore his ACL and Barkley missed the remainder of the season.

With him out, the offense was a mess and didn’t have that firepower he provided. For that reason, it’s easy to see the Giants adding another weapon to help that side of the ball. But with the way this draft is falling, they go another route and add a player from Barkley’s alma mater in Micah Parsons.

The talented linebacker sat out the 2020 season for the Nittany Lions but he already proved that he’s the best in this class at his position. There’s nothing Parsons can’t do on defense and while the Giants need to get better on offense, their defense can also use a shot in the arm — which is something he can deliver.
