Notre Dame. 18. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. LB. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. 59

The Miami Dolphins had three picks in the opening round of the 2020 NFL Draft and landed three players they felt they could build around. First was Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa at No. 5, followed by UST offensive tackle Austin Jackson. Then at pick No. 30, they ended up with Noah Igbinoghene, the talented cornerback from Auburn.

Miami still found more talent, landing Robert Hunt — an offensive guard from Louisiana-Lafayette — at No. 39 and then they went with Alabama defensive tackle Raekwon Davis at No. 56. While those two were both second-round picks, they had NFL starter written all over them and now, the Dolphins can continue to add premier players thanks to their two picks in this opening round.

Earlier, with their selection from the Houston Texans, they added Ja’Marr Chase from LSU to give Tua a No. 1 threat out wide. This is a solid move to make after landing the quarterback and bolstering the line of scrimmage.

Now, they turn their attention back to the defensive side of the ball and after strengthening the line with Davis and the secondary with Igbinoghene, they turn their attention to the linebacker corps as they add Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah from Notre Dame. A bit of a tweener, Owusu-Koramoah is listed at just 215-pounds but he’s a playmaker nonetheless. And in the Dolphins’ 3-4 defense, he would be freed up to use his instincts and get after the ball as one of two inside linebackers. His coverage ability also helps as it keeps him on the field for all three downs.
