Scouting Report. Ohio State. 2. player. Pick Analysis. QB. Justin Fields. 30

Up next is the New York Jets — who would probably be willing to send this pick to the Houston Texans in a deal for Deshaun Watson. The former first-round pick has become disgruntled in Houston and would like out, and one of his preferred destinations has been rumored to be New York. However, Houston’s new general manager has said he has no intentions of trading him away but instead wants to convince Watson to make things work.

For the Jets, this doesn’t mean they can’t land their franchise quarterback because that’s exactly what they get here in Justin Fields. And while they don’t get Trevor Lawrence or Deshaun Watson in this 2021 NFL Mock Draft, it’s not as if they got some consolation prize.

Fields would have been a No. 1 overall pick in several recent drafts but just so happened to come into the NFL the same season as Trevor Lawrence who is the consensus top pick. Fields might not be as polished as Lawrence but his ceiling is arguably just as high.

A dual-threat, Fields can hurt defenses with his arm and legs and should give the Jets offense the shot in the arm they have needed for years. With him being able to move the chains and new head coach Robert Saleh’s ability to scheme up a good defense, this team could improve very quickly.
