OT. 20. player. Pick Analysis. Texas. Samuel Cosmi. 57. Scouting Report

It appears the Chicago Bears might have their quarterback situation figured out. Rumors are swirling that they could land Carson Wentz from the Philadelphia Eagles but after the way Wentz performed in 2020, is it really an upgrade for them over Mitch Trubisky?

Many will say yes, but it’s really not that obvious. Wentz has been a problem for the Eagles, so expecting him to save Chicago might be a stretch. And if they do make that move, this pick won’t be theirs, but for now, it is and we use it to improve the offensive line with the selection for Samuel Cosmi from Texas.

Cosmi is widely considered a first-round pick and Dan Schmelzer of NFL Mocks even contends he might be the second-best tackle in this class behind Penei Sewell.

"“Overall, Cosmi’s athleticism at the offensive tackle position consistently stands out and makes him a potential impact player at the next level. He could quickly grow into a real franchise left tackle, securing one of the most important offensive positions for his NFL team. Cosmi should undoubtedly be a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and could easily challenge for OT2 behind Sewell.” — Schmelzer, NFL Mocks"

Whoever starts under center for Chicago in 2021 will be grateful to have a better line in front of them as this is a player who will be starting for the next 10-plus seasons in the NFL.
