Pick Analysis. WR. player. Scouting Report. Alabama. Jaylen Waddle. 7. 50

There aren’t too many people who think the Detroit Lions made a bad trade when they sent Matt Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams for a boatload of picks and Jared Goff. Sure, Stafford has been a solid quarterback for them but they had just brought in another new coach and were likely ready to move on from their star quarterback.

The problem is, no one seems to think Jared Goff did well in this exchange. The former No. 1 overall pick was just sent to Detroit only a couple of seasons removed from taking the Rams to the Super Bowl. While that has to be frustrating for him, it could also motivate him to get back on track.

Detroit might allow him to prove he can do that as they take a wide receiver here — even though it would be tempting to go with a new signal-caller. Their pick ends up being Jaylen Waddle from Alabama who would pair well with Kenny Golladay on the Lions offense.

It’s not the same firepower that he had in Los Angeles but Goff working with Golladay, Waddle, T.J. Hockenson, and D’Andre Swift might not be half bad. That is, as long as their new head coach, Dan Campbell, didn’t scare them off with his bizarre press conference.
