. Previous: 22nd. San Francisco 49ers. 15. team. 42.

The San Francisco 49ers dealt with a lot in 2020 — as did many teams due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, their situation was different than other clubs as they weren’t allowed to finish the season in their home stadium. Due to restrictions being placed in the city of Santa Clara, they had to move to the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona.

That wasn’t their only obstacle as they were also dealt more than their fair share of injuries. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, tight end George Kittle, and running back Raheem Mostert all missed significant time due to injuries which led to them finishing with a mark of 6-10 on the season.

Now with them moving into the offseason, they’re going to need to replace Robert Saleh who left to coach the New York Jets. Saleh was the mastermind behind their stout defense and won’t be easy to replace. They also might be replacing Jimmy Garoppolo, who has yet to take the next step as a starter and is continually having issues staying on the field.

They’re going to need to get both situations figured out since they’re suddenly in one of the tougher divisions in the NFL. Not only are the Seahawks and Rams both playoff teams, but the Cardinals are right on the cusp as well.
