Despite winning the championship, the Buccaneers aren’t favored in the 2022 Super Bowl odds as they and the Packers are looking up at the favored Chiefs.
On Sunday night, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were crowned as Super Bowl champions. Tom Brady captured his absurd and unprecedented seventh ring of his career in his first season with a new team with a dominant performance against the Kansas City Chiefs. But we’re never one to let things lie; it’s always time to look ahead to the next NFL season.
Subsequently, we’re already thinking about the 2022 Super Bowl LVI and which teams should be in the mix. DraftKings Sportsbook, via The Action Network, already has the 2022 Super Bowl odds out and the Buccaneers aren’t the favorites. In fact, it’s the Chiefs — who just lost to Tampa — that are the prohibitive favorites to win the title next year.
The Buccaneers are tied for the second-best odds with the Green Bay Packers, the team they toppled in the NFC Championship Game. Those three teams are the only ones with better than +1000 odds.
With that, let’s take a look at the odds for all 32 NFL teams with some quick takeaways thereafter.
2022 Super Bowl odds, an early look

It is wild that the Chiefs are early Super Bowl favorites by a wide margin while a team like the Buccaneers that just beat them is tied for the second-best odds. However, that shows the respect that the oddsmakers have for Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City infrastructure.
Outside of that, the 49ers odds are interesting to me. With the seventh-best odds for 2022, that does seem to indicate a belief that, when back healthy, this team will be back in contention. The odds for the Browns and Dolphins also seemingly indicate an uptick in their chances from this past year, which stands to reason.
Regardless, things are bound to change throughout the offseason as free agency and the draft change up roster — not even mentioning possible trades that are looming. But on the immediate heels of this year’s Big Game, this is what we’re looking at for the 2021-22 season.
