Green Bay Packers 2020 rookie grade: Jon Runyan, OL (Rd. 6, Pick 192)

Grade: C+ | In some patchwork duty throughout the year, Runyan ended up playing over 150 snaps at guard as a rookie. The results were definitely mixed as both a run and pass blocker as he had some good moments surrounded by others that weren’t so great. As a sixth-round pick, there is room to grow and the positives from his limited work could be stepping stones.

Green Bay Packers 2020 rookie grade: Jake Hanson, C (Rd. 6, Pick 208)

Grade: Incomplete | Hanson was always in a tough spot playing behind Corey Linsley and he started the year on the practice squad. He was then placed on IR midway through the year but the Packers re-signed him for 2021. We’ll see if he’s able to elevate himself or if he’s a miss for Green Bay on a late-round dart throw.

Green Bay Packers 2020 rookie grade: Simon Stepaniak, OT (Rd. 6, Pick 209)

Grade: Incomplete | After suffering a knee injury at Indiana, Stepaniak spent the majority of the season recovering from that. He was then inactive when he finally joined the 53-man roster. So with nothing to see from him, the tackle is a wait-and-see case beyond the 2020 season.

Green Bay Packers 2020 rookie grade: Vernon Scott, S (Rd. 7, Pick 236)

Grade: C | Playing behind Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage as a seventh-round pick, Vernon Scott wasn’t going to have a big role. However, as a depth safety in defensive back-heavy packages and a special teams player, Scott played relatively well. He still has work ahead to carve out a bigger role but he was solid overall.

Green Bay Packers 2020 rookie grade: Jonathan Garvin, EDGE (Rd. 7, Pick 242)

Grade: D | Early in the year, it seemed as if the rookie out of Miami might be in for a solid role as he was seeing a solid rotational snap count. However, his ineffectiveness essentially forced him out of that role and he didn’t see the field much in the second half of the year. There is still upside but Garvin has a long road ahead to stick around in Green Bay.
