Orlando Brown Jr. wants a trade so that he can play left tackle, so which NFL teams should be interested in making a deal with the Ravens?

The Baltimore Ravens have one of the best offensive lines in the league but that could be changing in the 2021 NFL offseason. Right tackle Orlando Brown Jr. has reportedly requested a trade to a team for which he could play left tackle, as reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

After a disastrous NFL Combine, Brown fell from being a potential first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft to eventually being selected by the Ravens in the third round, No. 83 overall. Since arriving in Baltimore and playing right tackle opposite of Ronnie Stanley, though, Brown has looked the part of a two-time Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Brown has graded as one of the 25 best offensive tackles in the league according to PFF (subscription required) in each of the last two seasons. However, his desire to be moved to left tackle almost surely stems from a financial incentive of playing a traditionally more valuable position.

So with Orlando Brown Jr. potentially being on the move, let’s take a look at which NFL teams could trade for him, knowing that it’ll be costly but potentially worth it.

Orlando Brown Jr. trade landing spot No. 7: Seattle Seahawks

The shortcomings of the Seattle Seahawks offensive line have been widely noted over the years but have recently been brought back into the forefront with Russell Wilson’s purported unhappiness with how much pressure he’s been under.

Last year, though, we saw the Seahawks aggressively pursue options to improve another weakness, their secondary, when they traded for Jamal Adams. So perhaps they could dip back into the trade well and look at Brown to upgrade at left tackle.

If there’s one thing holding the Seahawks back in a trade, it’s that they don’t have their 2021 first-round pick to trade due to the Adams deal. However, if they could find a package that the Ravens would bite on, Brown would make sense in the Pacific Northwest.
