Continuing to hone in on the Eagles secondary, the back end at safety has also been a point of weakness in recent years. That’s something that they hope a fifth-round pick like Joshuah Bledsoe could come in and help remedy as he offers tremendous value at this spot.

Bledsoe is extremely athletic and, in sub-packages, has proven to be a quality player when coming up and covering slot weapons in the passing game. Moreover, he’s quick and strong enough to shed and make plays in the run game. He needs more experience in high roles but has the physical profile of a player who could ultimately succeed in that spot.

Philadelphia finally gets a wide receiver to add to the mix and the fact that Marlon Williams is available to them at this spot is a testament to the depth of the position in the 2021 draft class.

Williams had a monster season at UCF last year with 71 receptions for 1,037 yards and 10 scores in just eight games. He has a strong frame at 6-0, 222 pounds and has a bit of juice to him at that size, which allows him both to separate in his routes and create plays with yards after the catch. He will need more work on operating on the outside if the Eagles want to utilize him there but his potential is obvious.

With versatility, having both guard and center reps on film from his time at Georgia, Trey Hill could be a nice late-round depth addition in Philadelphia. Again, they need that on the line after what they experienced last year and Hill could offer that.

Hill isn’t a great athlete and his mobility is limited. However, he’s an extremely powerful and smart player when it comes to his style on the interior and that could serve him well. If he’s needed as depth in situations, he’s adequate enough to succeed, albeit with some protection against faster rushers.

It took Cornell Powell until his fifth season in the Clemson program to finally produce but he came on strong for the Tigers this past season. His 53-882-7 line was quite impressive and he stepped up to put his name in the draft conversation, which he continued to do with a strong showing at Senior Bowl practices.

Because he was buried on the depth chart, he’s a bit of a wild card but the blend of skills that he put on film in 2020 make him well worth a gamble, especially for a team like the Eagles that continues to look for a deeper group of pass-catchers.

Wrapping up this Philadelphia Eagles 7-round 2021 NFL mock draft is Shakur Brown, another player in the ilk of Powell in the sense that he really came into his own and jumped onto the radar in the 2020 season.

Nabbing five picks this past season for Sparty, Brown was all over the field and made a ton of plays to make himself an enticing and seemingly versatile option. Teams will have to do their homework on him given the lack of quality film from the entirety of his career but his upside appears quite impressive.
