Russell Wilson trade landing spot No. 1: New Orleans Saints

The best possible landing spot for Russell Wilson out of the teams he’s interested in would be the Saints, who could find themselves without Drew Brees as their quarterback for the first time since the 2005 season. Brees hasn’t officially announced his retirement yet, but after watching him attempt to throw the ball in the playoffs, one would think it’d be coming sooner rather than later.

If Brees is on his way out the door, Wilson would keep the Saints as the kings of the NFC South and keep them in that Super Bowl conversation. The Saints have a good offensive line, one of the best in the league even, and they have plenty of offensive weapons for Wilson should he decide that’s where he wants to go.

Michael Thomas should hopefully be healthy and good to go next year, Alvin Kamara is one of the best running backs in the league (if not the best), and Emmanuel Sanders started to hit his stride at the end of last season. These would be automatic upgrades from what Wilson has at his disposal in Seattle and if the Seahawks are willing, the Saints would love to have him in the Big Easy.

It’ll be interesting to see what transpires between Russell Wilson and the Seahawks. Will he stay in Seattle or will he be traded and finishing his career elsewhere?
