These three free agents need to be avoided by the Dallas Cowboys
For years, the Dallas Cowboys were one of the more frugal teams in the NFL when it came to free agency. Of course, this came to fruition after years of Jerry Jones overpaying for players and getting burnt, but that didn’t make their inactivity in free agency any less frustrating for fans.
Then in 2020, they decided to start making some moves. They signed Dontari Poe, Gerald McCoy, Everson Griffen, and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix — and every one of those moves proved to be awful.
None of those players finished the season with the team and McCoy and Clinton-Dix never saw the regular season. With that being said, Dallas shouldn’t go back into hiding when it comes to free agency but they should be careful this time around.
With that being said, we dive into the 2021 free agency market and identify three players the Cowboys need to avoid signing.
3. Von Miller, EDGE
Born in Dallas, Texas, there will be connections made between Vin Miller and the Cowboys when players are allowed to sign. And at one time, it would have been a dream come true for Dallas to land the Texas A&M product.
But that time has passed as the soon-to-be 32-year-old is no longer the threat he once was. He’s also not guaranteed to be healthy after suffering a dislocated peroneal tendon — which is a serious injury to his ankle.
If that wasn’t enough to steer clear, there are also reports that he’s been under investigation for domestic violence this year. Miller is a Super Bowl MVP and one of the best to ever play the game, but right now, he’s radioactive and the exact opposite of what Dallas needs.
