These five free agents would be dream signings for the Green Bay Packers in 2021.

The Green Bay Packers fell one game short of the Super Bowl for the second straight season this past January. Might they add a marquee free agent who could help get them over the hump in 2021?

With a deflated salary cap for this coming season, don’t expect many huge splashes by teams in free agency. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the NFL’s salary cap is expected to be around $180 million for each team. The Packers, still about $11 million over the cap, have some restructuring to do before they can think about signing any free agents.

But let’s assume the Packers do make some room. Which players might be a great fit for Green Bay? Here are five dream targets for the Packers in 2021 free agency.

5. Will Fuller V, WR

The Packers were interested in trading for Will Fuller before the trade deadline this past season. Now that he’s expected to become an unrestricted free agent, it makes sense that Green Bay would be even more interested in pursuing the speedy receiver. According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans won’t use the franchise tag on Fuller.

Fuller is a vertical threat who would add speed to a Packers receiving corps that lacks any (aside from Marquez Vadles-Scantling). And because Fuller was suspended for six games last season due to banned substances, he could come at a discount. He will miss the first game of this season.

Fuller was in the midst of a career year before his suspension. He finished with 53 receptions, 879 yards and eight touchdowns in 11 games. Because of his current suspension, a streaky injury history, and a low salary cap, perhaps the Packers could sign him to a discounted one-year prove it deal.
