Fantasy Football Rankings 2021: Top 8 rookie quarterbacks for dynasty leagues
By Drew DeLuca
Dynasty Fantasy Football rookie quarterback rankings: Tier 1
1. Trevor Lawrence – Clemson
Lawrence as the top-ranked quarterback should come as no surprise. No disrespect to DeVonta Smith, but had Lawrence not missed two games due to COVID, he would’ve likely won the Heisman…and if you think that’s a bit “hot takey,” bear in mind that there are people who have Lawrence rated as low as third in this draft class.
The Clemson product’s height (6-6) helps him see the field better than most; he is very mobile inside the pocket, and a threat to run outside of it. He displays the pocket presence of an NFL veteran, and frequently displays patience in his progressions:
Lawrence also displays uncanny touch and ball placement, and can make any throw required of him at the NFL level. He’s a proven leader and winner, leading the Clemson Tigers to a 39-3 record while under center; he threw 90 touchdowns and just 17 interceptions during that span.
Widely regarded as a “generational talent,” a label we don’t like to throw around lightly, Lawrence has earned that nod. Many are calling him the best pure quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck, and some suggest Lawrence’s ceiling is even higher.
We expect Lawrence to be the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, and we’re excited for what that means for the fantasy prospects of D.J. Chark, Laviska Shenault, and James Robinson in dynasty fantasy football leagues. Expect Lawrence to be the 1.01 (first pick in the first round) of most Superflex rookie drafts.
