4. Jamize Olawale, Fullback

Post-June 1 cut; Savings: $600,000; Dead money: $1.2 million
Pre-June 1 cut; Savings: $575,000; Dead money: $1.2 million

A product of North Texas, Jamize Olawale actually started his career as an undrafted free agent with the Cowboys back in 2021. He never made the final roster as a rookie and ended up being signed by the Oakland Raiders.

Olawale spent the next six seasons with Oakland and was one of the more well-known fullbacks in the NFL. The Raiders utilized him as a runner and receiver, and he had 206 yards rushing and four touchdowns on the ground and 425 yards and three touchdowns receiving.

Those numbers might not be too exciting for most positions, but for a fullback, they were rather impressive. For that reason, fans were happy when he returned to Big in 2018 following the loss of Keith Smith in free agency.

Unfortunately, Olawale has primarily been a bust for Dallas. He sat out the 2020 season but in his first two years, all he managed was two receptions for 13 yards and never received a carry. Now set to turn 32, Olawale has a high cap number for a player who was hardly seen on the field before opting out of 2020.

With his limited use and the fact that Dallas can save around $600,000, it’s safe to say Olawale might be done in Big D.
