2. Jadeveon Clowney, DL

The Raiders struggled at stopping the run last season, which is why bringing in Jadeveon Clowney would be an excellent idea. After inking a one-year deal with the Tennessee Titans last season, Clowney appeared in just eight games due to a nagging knee injury. He had surgery on his meniscus and did not return for the playoffs.

One of the better run stoppers in the league, Clowney would give a huge boost to a Las Vegas defense that lacked any sort of toughness in the run game last season. The Raiders allowed 4.6 yards per carry and an average of 126 rushing yards per game. Both of those figures ranked in the bottom half of the league.

One of the most interesting things about Clowney is the fact that he’s so versatile. He can line up in a variety of ways along the defensive line or outside opposing offensive tackles. Because of that, other players are afforded opportunities for 1-on-1 matchups due to confusion from opposing offensive lines. Maxx Crosby and Clelin Ferrell would both benefit greatly from Clowney’s presence.

For being a former No. 1 overall pick, Clowney hasn’t necessarily lived up to the hype. Still, he’s an extremely productive player who would make a big impact as a pass-rusher and run defender. Still just 28 years old, Clowney has a few more years left in his prime. He should be fully healthy by the time training camp starts, as well.
