Sticking with the theme of stopping the run, the No. 1 target on the Las Vegas Raiders’ free agency wish list should be defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson. The former second-round draft choice spent his first four seasons with Giants, but it doesn’t look like he’ll be returning to New York.

Tomlinson is one of the better run stuffers in the NFL and would give the Raiders an immediate upgrade at defensive tackle. He’s earned a run-defense grade of at least 70.0 in every season of his career thus far, according to Pro Football Focus (subscription required).

Additionally, Tomlinson is a reliable pass-rusher despite his 6-foot-3, 315-pound frame. His athleticism for his size is uncanny. In each of the last two seasons, he’s notched 3.5 sacks. Even more incredible is the fact that Tomlinson has never missed a game during his four-year career, having started all 16 games in each season.

Adding a massive human like Tomlinson to the middle of the defensive line would have a huge impact for the Raiders’ run defense. There’s no question about that. But the fact that he can also rush the passer is just the icing on the cake. Tomlinson would be a dream free agent signing for Las Vegas.
