NFL Draft 2021 Pro Comparisons: Ja’Marr Chase → Anquan Boldin

There have been several talented wide receivers to come out of LSU and get drafted in the first few rounds during the last several years including Justin Jefferson, Odell Beckham Jr., and Jarvis Landry. Well, Ja’Marr Chase has the potential to be LSU’s highest-drafted receiver ever.

Chase hasn’t played a game since the 2019 season, but he’s still regarded by some as the top wide receiver available in this year’s draft. His potential and production from the last time he was on the field certainly has something to do with that.

As a sophomore in 2019, Chase wound up accumulating 84 catches for 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Why he compares to Anquan Boldin:

The physicality that Chase brings to the table is something that sets him apart from most of the wide receivers in the 2021 draft pool. This physical-type of playing style is something that Anquan Boldin perfected during his career in the NFL.

Boldin was never the fastest guy on the field, but he was always one of the toughest to bring down. Chase displayed some of these qualities during his college career at LSU and this should help him succeed at the next level.
