NFL Draft 2021 Pro Comparisons: Trevor Lawrence → Peyton Manning
Following his first season at Clemson, many people have assumed Trevor Lawrence would go on to become the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft whenever he decided to leave school. Lawrence is a passing prospect that doesn’t come along very often, especially since most believe he’s going to develop into a top quarterback at the pro level.
The former Clemson passer has the complete package. He’s got the size (6-foot-6, 220 pounds), he’s got the arm, he’s got the numbers (90 touchdowns in three seasons), and he’s even got some wheels when he needs to use them.
Why he compares to Peyton Manning:
Like Lawrence, Peyton Manning was viewed as a once-in-a-generation type of quarterback prospect when he entered the NFL Draft back in 1998. Manning ended up going No. 1 overall to the Indianapolis Colts and this year, he became part of the most recent class that will be getting inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Many believe Lawrence possesses several characteristics that are similar to Mannings’s that could result in him earning a spot in the Hall of Fame when his NFL career comes to an end.
Lawrence has the potential to break numerous league records, just as the Hall of Famer did during his pro career.
