Pick Analysis. EDGE. Michigan. 17. player. Scouting Report. 28. Kwity Paye

After two seasons with the team, it’s safe to say Clelin Ferrell has been a disappointment for the Las Vegas Raiders. Taken fourth overall out of Clemson in 2019, Ferrell was supposed to replace Khalil Mack and give the Raiders an elite edge rusher. So far, that hasn’t happened.

Ferrell has recorded just 6.5 sacks in two seasons, with the majority coming in his rookie campaign. That year, he had 4.5 sacks and it was chalked up to the fact that moving from the NCAA to the NFL as a defensive end can be tough.

However, Ferrell then had just two sacks this past season, Meanwhile, Maxx Crosby, who was taken in the fourth round of the same draft Ferrell was added, has 17 sacks in two seasons.

Now, they look to start the process of pushing Ferrell to be the best he can — or out the door —  by taking Kwity Paye from Michigan. Paye is listed at 6-foot-4 and 272-pounds giving him elite measurables for playing end on a four-man line.

He played just four games in 2020 due in large part to the COVID-19 pandemic causing the Big Ten to play fewer games (Michigan had just six contests on the year). In those four games, he had 16 tackles and two sacks, which had him on a similar pace to the 50 tackles and 6.5 sacks he had in 2019.

Paye is still learning the ins and outs of the position and the more reps he gets, the better he will be.
