Scouting Report. EDGE. Gregory Rousseau. 30. 16. Pick Analysis. Miami. player

In the second round last season, the Buffalo Bills took A.J. Epenesa out of Iowa. At times, he was a projected first-round pick, but Epenesa slid to No. 54. Perhaps it was the fact that he’s a 280-pound power guy rather than an explosive edge, but whatever the reason, Epenesa found a good home and was able to spend his rookie season learning the ropes for one of the best teams in the AFC.

He’s going to be ready for an expanded role in 2020, but the Bills can’t simply plan on him turning into a Pro Bowl player. Instead, they need to add more help, especially with Jerry Hughes close to being done in the NFL. They could also use a player with more speed off the edge and they land that at No. 30 while also stopping another slide.

Early in the process, Gregory Rousseau was considered a top-15 to top-10 talent. But other defensive ends started to emerge and he never was able to build upon a solid start to his career in Miami. The main issue that we hear when it comes to Rousseau is that he’s not fully developed.

That could actually be good for the Bills since they would get a player who has been successful at the collegiate level thanks in large part to his natural gifts. Should they coach him up a bit, he could become an elite player and that’s not always something teams find at this spot in the draft.
