What will happen with the Green Bay Packers in 2021 NFL free agency? Bold predictions for the Pack.

The Green Bay Packers will have a chance to bolster their roster via free agency when the NFL’s new league year begins next week. With several free agents available, there’s an infinite number of directions Green Bay could take.

But first, the Packers will need to open up some cap space before opening up the checkbook for any new acquisitions. As of March 12, Green Bay is roughly $2 million over the cap after outside linebacker Preston Smith and safety Adrian Amos agreed to restructured contracts on Friday.

The Packers must be at $182.5 million on the salary cap by next Wednesday. Expect another contract restructure in the near future. The team will likely need $15-20 million in cap space in order to sign some key free agents.

With that said, here are three bold predictions for the Packers in NFL free agency.

3. Green Bay Packers sign Will Fuller

The Packers were interested in Will Fuller at the trade deadline last season, so it makes sense that they’d be interested now that he’s an unrestricted free agent. The former first-round draft choice by the Texans was in the midst of a career year in 2020 before being suspended for a PED violation. Fuller was handed a six-game suspension and will serve one more game at the start of the 2021 season.

Still, is one game enough to keep the Packers disinterested in a player they were so keen on acquiring last fall? Now that he’s available for no draft capital, don’t be surprised if Green Bay tries signing the speedy wideout. Fuller would be a legitimate vertical threat the Packers haven’t had since prime Jordy Nelson.
