The Green Bay Packers still need to get Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams help at wide receiver, so which players in 2021 free agency could they target?

Despite entering the offseason over the projected and now official salary cap, the Green Bay Packers have been quite busy leading up to the start of 2021 NFL free agency. Not only have they re-worked several contracts but they were also able to re-sign running back Aaron Jones to a four-year, $48 million contract that includes a $13 million guaranteed signing bonus.

It remains to be seen what else the Packers have in store for free agency but there’s no denying that one of the top desires among fans is for the franchise to add help at wide receiver. People have been wanting to get Aaron Rodgers another weapon and Davante Adams some consistent help in the passing game for some time.

The 2021 NFL free agency offers opportunities for Green Bay to make that happen. Of course, the Packers still have to clear more cap space to make more signings but they have the opportunity to do so with restructuring the deals of players like Za’Darius Smith and Rodgers in addition to possibly cutting Dean Lowry.

Assuming that they do that and then look to address wide receiver with a signing this offseason, let’s take a look at some wide receiver targets for the Green Bay Packers in 2021 NFL free agency.

7. Kenny Golladay (Lions)

The notion of the Packers signing Kenny Golladay is likely a pie-in-the-sky thought. He’s the top available wide receiver in free agency after Allen Robinson and Chris Godwin were franchise tagged, which likely means he’s going to command a substantial payday. Green Bay, as they need to do work just to make room to sign anyone else, likely can’t afford the type of money required to land the former Lion.

Having said that, the football fit of Golladay would be incredible with Rodgers and Adams. Golladay fits the mold of what the Packers front office likes in terms of big-bodied pass-catchers who can win in contested situations. But more importantly, he’s proven to be a consistent and dangerous deep-passing threat, which would provide a perfect complement to Adams and further open up the offense.
