There are some intriguing prospects in the 2021 NFL Draft, but if teams aren’t careful they could take a guy too high and end up having buyer’s remorse.

It’s been said time and again, the NFL Draft is a crapshoot, the 2021 NFL Draft is no different. Teams looking for their next star, that impact player hope they can find them a guy in the first round. More often than not, depending on where a team is picking, that guy can either help a franchise or set them back. There are 2 picks in the first round and there are bound to be busts.

This list isn’t a shot at the players themselves. They’ve earned their right to have their names called in the 2021 NFL Draft. NFL Spin Zone expert Cody Williams has the majority of these men in his latest mock draft. However, there are prospects with higher bust factors than most.

Situations matter, so if these players are thrust into anything less than ideal schemes, teams could soon regret these picks. If one of your favorite prospects made this list, it’s a tough world we live in. Just tell me how much you hated it on Twitter. You just have to accept the fact that these men could bust out if they are taken too high.

6. Eric Stokes, CB, Georgia

Teams are thirsty for a true number one corner. A player who can line up on the outside playing man coverage. The 2021 NFL Draft has two corner prospects who separated themselves from the rest. Virginia Tech’s Caleb Farley, and Alabama’s Patrick Surtain Jr. are far ahead, making the battle for the No. 3 spot intriguing.

Teams looking for a corner will have their sights set on any prospect who dominates their Pro Day. When a guy blazes the 40, teams will move his name up their draft board. The traits all teams look for lie within this prospect.

After Brandon Marshall’s Virtual Pro Day, there’s no doubt that teams are salivating at the prospect of having defensive back Eric Stokes. In case you haven’t heard, Stokes ran a sub 4.3-second 40-yard dash while measuring 6-1, 196 pounds with an 11-foot broad jump. His numbers rank among the 90th percentile has all the tools teams desire in a No. 1 corner, but he isn’t.

The issue is, his 40-yard dash hasn’t translated in his film. He didn’t show that speed or closing ability at the top of routes. Additionally, his short-area quickness left something to be desired. And, he’s too grabby which could be a problem in the NFL.

Stokes is a late-first, early second-round pick, if he’s drafted top 15, teams won’t be stoked by the results. A better top 15 option is Greg Newsome II.
