The Broncos’ decision to sign Kyle Fuller is as close to a perfect move as it gets in the NFL.

When the Chicago Bears made the startling decision to release former cornerback Kyle Fuller, there was speculation that the Denver Broncos would land him. Sure enough, while the rest of the country was busy moaning over busted brackets, Denver quietly announced that they had scooped up the former Bears Pro-Bowler, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

There are always two sides to a story. For the Bears, they lose a player that they essentially settled for as compensation after Aaron Donald was taken one selection before in 2014. Additionally, they lose a player that was solid during his time in the Windy City and helped lead a dominant defense in 2018.

But back to the Broncos. They get a player that’s very familiar with the scheme run by head coach Vic Fangio. Additionally, he’s out to prove himself as one of the better corners in the league despite signing a one-year deal.

Kyle Fuller is on a mission and who better than Vic Fangio and the Broncos to guide him?

Before coming to the NFL, Fuller was a productive corner at Virginia Tech. After being drafted, Fuller gained national notice on a Sunday Night in San Francisco, where he grabbed two interceptions late in the fourth quarter against the 49ers in 2014. Since then, he has gone on to appear in two Pro Bowls and be a leader for the Bears secondary.

Now that he is gone, he can provide the same energy for Denver that has struggled at times with their secondary. Fangio likes to have proven players and scheme guys run his style of defense, and Fuller makes sense. Plus, Fuller won’t have to change the colors of his wardrobe all that much.

Next. One NFL player you forgot played for your favorite team. dark

Kyle Fuller to the Broncos made too much sense, and at first, it sounded too good to be true. Now that he has landed in Denver, what he does with the opportunity is now up to him. What Chicago does to replace him, however, is worth watching.
