25 best players to never make a Pro Bowl: 10. Brandin Cooks, WR

Career stats:

  • 6,880 receiving yards
  • 483 receptions
  • 40 TDs

Best season 2015:

  • 1,138 receiving yards
  • 84 receptions
  • 9 TDs

Brandin Cooks should have an asterisk next to his name. He’s only 27-years-old and has at least a decade left in the league to peel himself off this list. But, as things currently stand, his production warrants him being here.

With seven years already in the league, five of those seasons have been accompanied by a thousand plus yard season. Yet, the Pro Bowl hasn’t come calling at any point.

Known as a deep threat, Cooks has consistently taken the top off opposing defenses. Since he’s been in the league, you can count on him going for at least a 50-yard bomb several times a year. The criteria for being named a Pro Bowler are now getting confusing. His numbers aren’t considered hallow when you consider the amount of regular season wins he’s been apart of with the New Orleans Saints.

At some point, Cooks is going to be rewarded with a Pro Bowl selection. With 1,150 yards last season with the dysfunctional Houston Texans, you could’ve made the case that he should’ve been given the nod.

In spite of the consistent snubs, he’ll get his just due. If not, then he’ll end his career with the number one spot on this list.
