The grainy black and white images of Fuzzy Thurston are sometimes too hard to tell the whole story. That, in turn, makes him a forgotten man in NFL history.

Yet, with everything that Thurston accomplished in his career, the game of football is almost impossible to tell without him. After being forced to wait until the fifth round of the 1956 NFL Draft, Thurston wrecked opposing defenders who attempted to come near any of his quarterbacks.

Long before the biggest game of the year was named the Super Bowl, Thurston played in the NFL Championship game. He would go on to pocket six of those world titles.

But while the league would ultimately change the name of their championship game to the Super Bowl in 1968, Thurston continued to make yearly appearances, winning two of the newly renamed titles.

In addition to his overflowing championship mantle, Thurston was also named to the All-Pro first team in 1961 and four times was he selected to the second team. He would wrap up his career with an induction into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame when he hung his cleats up as well.

Despite the proliferation of awards thrown in his direction, Thurston was never selected as a Pro Bowler. Although the video of his dominance is somewhat forgotten, we made sure that he took his rightful place on this list.
