What was done to Marques Colston is a travesty. For a decade, Colston put up monster stats for the New Orleans Saints, including one year where he fell just two grabs short of 100 receptions and burned receivers for over 1,200 yards.
For at least half of his years in the league, Colston was undeniably the number one option for his team. One of the most looked upon stats when considering a wide receiver for the Pro Bowl is whether or not he had himself a thousand-yard season. Not only did he cross that threshold several times over but he averaged just under a thousand yards per season for his entire career.
Do we even have to mention the work he put in on the biggest stage called the Super Bowl? All he did was haul in seven passes for 83 yards to help his team pick up the win.
Colston’s name is littered all across the record books of the Saints. As it currently stands, he’s the franchise’s all-time leader in career receptions with 711, receiving yards with 9,759, total touchdowns with 72 and several other categories.
Regardless of his dominance, Colston was never given his badge of appreciation with a Pro Bowl birth. Because of that, he ranks high on our list.
