With the overwhelming hype surrounding him, running back Reggie Bush has to be considered one of the biggest busts in the history of the NFL. His time in USC was covered in a litany of awards including the Heisman Trophy, AP Player of the Year, a BCS championship, two AP national championships and countless selections to the All-American team.
If fans of Bush looked down for one second, by the time they glanced back at their screens, they would see the otherworldly running back making his way to the endzone.
For whatever reason, Bush simply did not live up to those expectations as he was taken with the second overall pick in the 2006 draft. Simply put, Bush was unable to do much of anything in the league but he did have a few moments.
His 2011 season stands out when considering he ran for over a thousand yards and caught the ball out of the backfield for close to 300 yards. Still, his professional career wasn’t very impressive, all things considered, but he was still dynamic with the ball and was such a fan favorite that he should have been given the nod.
In 2008 he showed off his versatility by playing special teams and racked up 270 punt return yards and three scores on the year. But while that was impressive, the rest of his numbers from that year weren’t as he only rushed for 404 yards.
