25 best players to never make a Pro Bowl: 18. Lamar Miller

Career stats:

  • 5,864 rushing yards
  • 32 TDs

Best season 2014:

  • 1,099 rushing yards
  • 8 TDs

The signature mark of a running back having a great season is mostly dependent upon whether or not he runs a thousand-yard season. Whether or not it actually contributes to winning isn’t the end all be all. For most, that four-digit number in the rushing column is a sign of a great running season.

In the case of Lamar Miller, he’s been able to do it on two occasions but really, outside of his rookie year, he’s always been in the mix to do it again and again.

For Miller, he isn’t extraordinary in any one area. He isn’t a great pass blocker, nor does he have break-away speed. In a day and age where backs aren’t expected to only carry the ball but also catch it, he isn’t great in that area either.

With that said, Miller is simply solid in all areas on the field.

Technically, Miller still has a chance to peel himself off this list but that appears to be incredibly unlikely considering the production or lack thereof over the past few years. Just this past season, Miller spent the bulk of his year on the practice squad for the Washington Football Team.

Ultimately, his chances of making the Pro Bowl now are slim to none.
