With the Chicago Bears cutting Fuller, the team needs fresh blood to replace him. Yes, they signed Desmond Trufant, but that is just for a season. He’d have to have a great season for him to come back. He’ll be a good veteran presence, but he also has an injury history so the team needs someone else.

Paulson Adebo gives the Bears an athletic corner. He is loose and has great hip flexibility. He ran an unofficial 4.42-second 40 at the Stanford Pro Day, so he can stay with any receiver.

Adebo also has good instincts. He reads the quarterback quickly and can make the play. He does a good job of going after the ball as well. When the ball is up, he can locate and track it quickly. At 6-1, 190 pounds, he can outjump the receiver for the ball. It helps that he has a receiver’s mentality when going for the ball.

Adebo had four interceptions in each season he played. He opted out of the 2020 season, however. He spent the year preparing for the draft and it showed. He shined at his Pro Day, showing his acceleration and ball tracking skills.

Adebo is also a physical cornerback. He can press the receiver and take him off his route. Additionally, his size and aggressiveness make it difficult for receivers to have room to operate.

Having Trufant can really help Adebo’s progress. He doesn’t have to come up big right away. He can play some snaps and improve before eventually becoming a starter. He’ll be a nice replacement for Fuller.
