Georgia. Azeez Ojulari. 13. player. 13. EDGE. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Melvin Ingram appears to be on the way out for the Los Angeles Chargers which means they need another defensive end to play opposite Joey Bosa. While most teams do prefer to have two players capable of getting after the quarterback from the edge, it’s even more important for the Chargers considering how often Bosa has had to miss time.

He’s played a full 16 games just twice and missed four contests this past year. For that reason, Los Angeles uses the No. 13 pick in this mock on Georgia pass rusher Azeez Ojulari.

In Los Angeles, Ojulari would be mainly playing with his hand in the dirt and one misconception is that he won’t be as effective in this role. While it’s true the Bulldogs largely employed a three-man line, there were times when Ojulari moved to the line to rush the passer — and he did so just fine.

He’s also been climbing boards and in this mock, he becomes the first EDGE to be selected. Of course, seeing that first pass rusher come off the board at 13 is odd in itself, since the position is such a premium, but other needs and an abundance of quarterbacks worthy of being picked early play into the hands of the Chargers.
