Alabama. 59. Scouting Report. RB. Najee Harris. 18. player. Pick Analysis

With the Miami Dolphins landing a new offensive tackle earlier in this mock, they now decide to go after a running back as they take Najee Harris from Alabama. Just like their first pick in the draft, this one is all about helping Tua Tagovailoa improve as a starter. The former Alabama star was up and down as a rookie and while he went 6-3, there are more questions than answers at this point.

Miami is trying to get things moving for him with the addition of wide receiver Will Fuller and they even tried to gamble on former first-round offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson — who lasted around a week. Now with Penei Sewell (the third pick in this mock) and Harris, joining Fuller and company, the Dolphins offense looks much more dangerous than it did one year ago.

As for what Harris brings to the table, he’s a 6-foot-2, 230-pound back who can shed tacklers with ease. He had 1,224 yards in 2019 and 13 touchdowns which was impressive but felt like an appetizer compared to what he did in 2020. That season, the senior put up 1,466 yards and 26 touchdowns while also catching 43 passes and four more scores as a receiver.

A great running game is one of the best ways to help a young quarterback improve and Harris will bring that to South Beach.
