2021 NFL Mock Draft, post-free agency: Browns land Micah Parsons, Falcons shock with Kyle Pitts

Yes, the Chicago Bears signed Andy Dalton and yes, they probably did tell him that he’s the starter. And at the time he was added to the roster, that was probably the case. Dalton — who was better in Dallas during a terrible season for that team — serves as a slight upgrade over Mitchell Trubisky. But again, the keyword is slight.
Dalton doesn’t offer up the same mobility that Trubisky had, but he’s not as errant with his passes as often as Trubisky can be. Then again, he also doesn’t get as hot as Trubisky can, but it’s the cold stretches that caused the Bears to move on.
Having said all that, Dalton isn’t the answer — so calm down Chicago fans. There’s no way they’re heading into 2021 without at least trying to find someone to groom behind Dalton which is what they do here by selecting Mac Jones out of Alabama.
The backup behind Tua, Jones broke out in 2019 when the former Crimson Tide starter suffered a hip injury. Then when Jones took on the job full-time in 2020, he really showed what he can do. Alabama quarterbacks have yet to take the league by storm but maybe that can start to change now.
