At one point, it did appear that cornerback was going to be a top priority for the Packers in the NFL Draft and it’s still up there. But after electing to (for better or worse) bring back Kevin King and with a rich veteran market still available in free agency, Green Bay should be able to wait in the draft and still find a quality player such as Paulson Adebo.

Adebo was a breakout star at Stanford in 2018 but took a step back in 2019 before opting-out and declaring. But that step back doesn’t mean he was a bad player, just not as phenomenal of one. He has the requisite IQ, size and athleticism to be a great outside corner who can come in and eventually pair with Jaire Alexander.

4. player. 49. . IDL, Pittsburgh. Green Bay Packers. Jaylen Twyman

When healthy, Green Bay is confident that Kenny Clark can be a game-wrecker in the middle of the defense. He’s one of the best nose tackles in the league in terms of talent. But the franchise has been a bit negligent in finding the right bodies to put on the line around him and that has to change.

Hence the selection of Jaylen Twyman at this point. The Pittsburgh standout opted-out of the 2020 season but was on pace for a big year. He’s undersized but his incredibly strong and able to use his leverage and push to penetrate as a pass-rusher. This should be extremely valuable and help the Packers really fortify a consistent rush in the front seven.

player. 49. . WR, Auburn. Green Bay Packers. Anthony Schwartz. 4

Packers fans were probably polishing their pitchforks at this point as a wide receiver hadn’t come off the board for them yet but, to be honest, this class is extremely deep at the position and there should be no dire rush to grab a pass-catcher. And someone like Anthony Schwartz being available with a Round 4 compensatory pick is evidence of that much.

While at Auburn, Schwartz didn’t totally get to showcase his skill-set due to scheme and quarterback play. However, he’s a perfect candidate for what the Packers need. He’s unbelievably fast as a former track star and has plenty of agility to match. He can win deep and in the shorter areas, all of which should make him a slot weapon to open up the offense in ways it needs to be.
