49. . S, Pittsburgh. Green Bay Packers. Paris Ford. 5. player

At his best, you love the versatility of Paris Ford in that he can both excel in coverage and can also be a downhill, physical player. The issue with the Pitt product is that those traits are often inconsistent because of a lack of discipline in both facets of the game, in addition to his size when it comes being physical. All told, though, Ford does enough well that he has a role in an NFL defense right now with the opportunity to grow into something much more.

LB, West Virginia. Green Bay Packers. Tony Fields II. 5. player. 49.

Over the past few years, we’ve started to see more NFL teams look to players who are undersized linebackers that essentially morph into a safety. Tony Fields II out of West Virginia is someone in that mold.

Fields has more instinctual moments on film from a linebacker perspective than other prospects of his ilk but his size and lack of length do limit him. He’s a very specific type of player but, for sub-packages in Green Bay, he’s an interesting piece that could fit into the puzzle.

6. player. 49. . CB, LSU. Green Bay Packers. Kary Vincent Jr.

Dipping back into the cornerback well, it’s hard not to look at the history of LSU defensive backs and the traits of Kary Vincent Jr. and think there isn’t some type of value to be found with picking him in the sixth round.

Vincent has athleticism, ball skills and production in his LSU career but his size and anticipation in the slot do cause him some limitations. While he may have a future as a safety, this is very much a ball of clay Green Bay could work with and make something special.

IOL, Middle Tennessee. Green Bay Packers. Robert Jones. 6. player. 49.

In truth, Robert Jones isn’t the most ideal scheme fit for Green Bay but the Packers can look at the Middle Tennessee standout and see a player who could have some value to them nonetheless. Jones was a tackle in college for MTSU but lacks the athleticism to play outside in the NFL. However, his nice punch and power to attack make him a beast with a mean streak on the interior.

49. . WR, Houston. Green Bay Packers. Marquez Stevenson. 7. player

Dipping back into the well of players who can play in the slot and do several things well, Marquez Stevenson is built ideally in that mold.

Though the Houston product has dealt with injuries, he can win at all levels of the field and has experience as a return-man on special teams. That’s great value in the seventh round, something the Packers should be interested in taking a flyer on.
