The signing of Keanu Neal is proof that Dan Quinn wants to bring some familiar faces to Big D as he installs his defense. And he might not be looking at players only from his most recent stop with the Atlanta Falcons.

Quinn, the newest defensive coordinator in Dallas, had the same role with the Seattle Seahawks back when they were known as the ‘Legion of Boom’. And one of their biggest stars during that time — which included a Super Bowl win — was Richard Sherman.

Now a free agent, Sherman spent the past three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers where he actually played very solid football despite being over the age of 30. The one issue that he did have was health, as he missed 11 games in 2020 due to a calf strain.

Having said that, if Sherman is healthy he would be a good addition for the Cowboys. Not only does he know the system that Quinn runs but he would also give them some much-needed experience at the cornerback position.

Dallas currently has Trevon Diggs entrenched as a starter and could be looking to add another youngster with the 10th overall pick.

Having someone as well respected as Sherman could help them transition to the NFL and as he proved in San Francisco, he can still get the job done himself.
