2021 NFL mock draft after major trades: Picks 13-16

13. Los Angeles Chargers: Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech

The Chargers struck gold last year when they selected Justin Herbert to be their franchise quarterback. After signing center Corey Linsley in free agency, they have an opportunity to continue building their line by selecting Darrisaw to be the bookend blindside protector that every young quarterback needs.

14. Minnesota Vikings: Alijah Vera-Tucker, OG, USC

The Vikings have holes all along the offensive line. Adding a swing player like Vera-Tucker provides a luxury of flexibility that few players offer. Furthermore, it should allow Minnesota to continue to rely on Dalvin Cook and Kirk Cousins behind the trenches.

15. New England Patriots: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame

The Patriots spent money like drunken sailors to improve their offense. I also expect them to be the most obvious suitors to acquire quarterback Jimmy Garoppalo via trade, so they’ll likely shift their focus to the defensive side of the ball. Owusu-Koramoah is a chess piece. He has the speed to make an impact in coverage and the skills to support the run. Adding a guy like this is the type of move that allows Bill Belichick to do Belichick-things on defense.

16. Arizona Cardinals: Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina

Arizona has been spending on veterans like a team that is planning to make a title run. They could be a wild card here and shock the pundits by selecting Travis Etienne, but I suspect Jaycee Horn is too good a value here to pass up. Keep in mind, they lost Patrick Peterson in free agency, so it’s filling a need as well.
