NFL: 30 greatest seasons from players 30 and older: 8. Tom Brady, 2015

There aren’t many players who can keep their bodies in good enough condition to have NFL careers that span over the course of two decades, but Tom Brady has found the Fountain of Youth. Before his 2015 season, Brady had already been named to 10 Pro Bowls (you heard that right).

Most quarterbacks in their mid-30s start to show a significant decline in play… but not Brady. If anything, it may have been the opposite for him. Though 2015 wasn’t the best season of his career, it certainly deserves to be high on this list. At this point in his career, Brady was a 38-year-old coming off a Super Bowl win, and many wondered if he would even return to play another season. Obviously, we know how this ended up shaking out.

At the age of 38, Brady managed to put up 4,770 yards to go with a league-leading 36 touchdown passes and just 7 interceptions. His 1.1 interception percentage was the lowest mark in the league and the fact that he managed to throw for 8.3 yards per adjusted attempt was quite impressive.

Brady led his team to a 12-4 record that was good enough to earn a first-round bye. He helped the Patriots get past the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, he then took care of business against the Denver Broncos before ultimately winning it all against the Seattle Seahawks. I can count on one hand the number of quarterbacks who have been as impressive at the age of 38, and Brady’s 2015 season was still better than most NFL quarterbacks can hope for at any point in their careers.
