Fantasy Football Rankings 2021: Top rookie running backs

2021 Fantasy Football Rookie Running Back No. 6: Chuba Hubbard
Over the last twelve months, few collegiate players have seen their fantasy football futures fall farther than Hubbard, who entered the season as a consensus top-three (if not top-two) playmaker at the running back position. At the moment, we’re higher than most on Hubbard, who has an opportunity to move back up others’ draft boards during his Pro Day on April 1.
Hubbard rocketed to the top of analysts’ positional rankings after a sophomore season in which he ran for 2,094 yards and 21 touchdowns, but since dropped like a rock after a “disappointing” campaign in which he was on pace for 1,257 yards and 11 touchdowns despite being the focal point of opposing defenses.
His yards per carry average dropped from 6.4 to 4.7 last season largely as a result of his decision to play through an ankle injury that limited his effectiveness.
After finishing as a finalist for the 2019 Doak Walker Award, given annually to the nation’s best running back, Hubbard began his 2020 campaign by averaging 119.5 rushing yards per game over his first four contests. He managed only 14 touches in the month of November before ultimately deciding to shut it down for the season and declare for the NFL Draft.
