Cleveland Browns: 7-Round 2021 mock draft after free agency
The Cleveland Browns didn’t manage to land blitz-crazy cornerback Mike Hilton in free agency, but picking up Marco Wilson late in the 2021 Draft might be the next best thing.
Wilson, like Paulson Adebo, brings height to the secondary, standing at 6-0 and 190 pounds. While the former-Gator isn’t the best at jamming wide receivers at the line or playing on-ball coverage, he does bring versatility in that he can play both outside and slot corner.
Wilson is a physical cornerback when playing from corner blitz schemes, and Cleveland has shown in the past they can bring that sort of pressure with the likes of Denzel Ward. If Cleveland finds the Florida product this far down in the draft, it would serve as a great plug-in piece and add to the much-needed defensive depth.
Cleveland Browns potential 7th-round picks
In this 2021 mock draft, the Cleveland Browns don’t have a pick in the 7th-round. However, if they happen to find themselves with one more selection before the last day of the draft concludes, maybe they take a late-flyer on a wide receiver.
Perhaps Cleveland picks up Stanford wide out Simi Fehoko, who measures in at an astonishing 6-4 and 227 pounds. If by some crazy stroke of luck he falls to the seventhth-round coming from the MAC, maybe the Browns find themselves staring at D’Wayne Eskridge, the physical speedster from Western Michigan.
If they find themselves with the room to play in the later rounds, the Cleveland Browns may also bulk up on the offensive line or add injury insurance at the safety position despite this year’s class being so thin. Regardless, expect the Browns to play it heavy on the defense in the 2021 NFL Draft.
