Kyle Pitts NFL Draft landing spot No. 3: Atlanta Falcons (Pick No. 4)

The Falcons are in a weird spot. It looks like the first three picks of the draft will all be quarterbacks, with Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson as the strong favorites to lead the night’s selections. That leaves Justin Fields, Trey Lance and even Mac Jones as the next men up.

You don’t need to be a mathematician to realize that could leave Atlanta with some options at No. 4. With a new regime in place, the team may want to start building for the future either by picking their quarterback of the future or by trading down to a team that wants one for themselves. (Denver? New England?)

Or maybe the Falcons opt to just take the best player available who, in this case, could be Pitts. He would slide right into Hayden Hurst’s role and provide Matt Ryan with a quarterbacks’ dream of weapons in Pitts, Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley.

Pitts’ versatility can allow him to line up anywhere in Arthur Smith’s offense. This seems to be the selection that I’m leaning toward, though you never know what could happen within the next couple of weeks.
