NFL Free Agency Grades: NFC East

Dallas Cowboys | Grade: A-

This would be a full-blown “A+” if re-signing Dak Prescott to a well-deserved long-term contract wasn’t two years too late. Even still, getting their franchise quarterback locked down is huge while the Cowboys have operated smart elsewhere. Keanu Neal and Damontae Kazee could be crucial additions defensively while veteran swing tackle Ty Nsekhe could prove pivotal given the health issues in the trenches last season.

New York Giants | Grade: A

For better or worse, it’s clear that Dave Gettleman’s New York Giants are going all-in on trying to make a massive leap in the 2021 season and at least properly be able to assess if Daniel Jones is their franchise quarterback. Inking wide receiver Kenny Golladay to a lucrative contract while landing tight end Kyle Rudolph are huge for that, but so too is re-signing Nate Solder and improving the defense by retaining Leonard Williams and nabbing Adoree’ Jackson following his release.

Philadelphia Eagles | Grade: C-

Philadelphia was always going to have to pay the piper for their excessive spending in previous years and that came to a head this offseason with a mass exodus of their roster. Moving on from Carson Wentz was necessary but Jalen Hurts is now in a tough spot. Landing Anthony Harris on a modest contract is what keeps this offseason from being a proverbial dumpster fire for the Eagles — but even then, it’s still not pretty.

Washington Football Team | Grade: A

Considering that Washington won the downtrodden NFC East last season with a revolving door of mediocrity at quarterback, suffice it to say that their defense is in position to win right now. Thus, adding veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick while bolstering the pass-catching group with Curtis Samuel is an incredibly savvy pair of moves for the Football Team. It substantially raises the floor and puts them in contention to win the division once again while also giving them time to possibly develop a quarterback.
